Let's get this started.

Hey internet! I’ve wanted to start a more public blog for a while now so I’m going to give this thing a shot. When I mean “public blog” I’m talking about a place where I can share my views and input vs. my personal life and drama. Of course it’s still going to be personal to an extent, my views and experiences, but I’m leaving my ‘whole life story’ perspective at LiveJournal. Yep, I have one of those, for about 4 years now, which is honestly quiet amusing. It’s more personal and for closer friends, so when I recently got a bunch of friends requests based on my style and fashion I thought about sharing that part of me on a more open level. So, here I am. Let’s see where this goes shall we?

My name is Tara, and I’m an aspiring Fashion Designer at the Fashion School of Technology in NY city. My biggest hobby besides fashion is cosplay. This is when people dress up as characters from Japanese anime and culture, and in my case I make all my costumes and model them. So as you might have guessed I’m big on Japan, but not just because of the anime. The culture has always intrigued me since I was younger. My base of inspiration for fashion in general is Japan. I got into Japanese street fashion when I was in middle school and it molded me and pushed me into the fashion world. I’m open to more than just Japanese Fashion but it definitely influences a big portion of my style and work. My personal taste is visual kei, punk, glam, and androgyny. I love couture, and very detailed artsy pieces as well. I’ve very open on gender. I believe Fashion is genderless. I don’t give in to stereotypes so easily because I don’t fit into them. My favorite designers are Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen(Long live~) and I take a lot of influence from street wear and abstract art. My favorite brand is SexPot Revenge(a japanese brand) and my secret unrealistic wish is to model/design for them.

Love Joker is one of the handles I’ve been using online. I think it’s fierce and cute, you can interpret it either way, just like me.

And always,

Fashion is art.

xoxo Tara
